Your Local Dollars
– Ministry Muscle Builders
We often face the question: “Why
should we support your store with our dollars? After all, there are other
stores and other venues.”
Think about this for a minute…
Consider each dollar you spend in
our store as a bolt of exploding energy shattering into multiple force
pellets of invigorating ministry muscle builders.
First, a portion of that dollar goes to pay services such as the UPS driver,
the sewer fees, the local municipal bureaucracy, the local insurance agent,
the health care provider, the state and federal social service agencies,
fire and police protection and the endless list goes on. These are our
common responsibilities, mostly local, and our witness shines on them. That
is quite an explosion!
Secondly, a portion goes to the suppliers of the books, gifts, music, etc.
This particle of energy permits them to continue to produce superior
ministry materials.
Third, there is the payroll, so that a particle of that energy explosion
goes to pay wages, health care, and costs associated with employees. We, the
employees, do appreciate that. Then we in turn can support our local
churches.
Fourth, a portion of the dollar explosion goes to support local events and
ministries that we organize from time to time.
But the most significant work that a portion of your dollar does accomplish
is to permit us to continue the maintenance of a clear and present witness
on Market Street in Corning.
Therefore, through your purchases,
you
are maintaining a witness in one of our area’s most traveled venues!
Your dollar’s explosion is amazing and quite frankly, so are you.

Our
History
Tee & Cee
Associates, Inc., established in April 1981,
provides the local Christian Community with the finest in literature, music,
gifts, church supplies, and other spiritually enriching materials.
The dream began when Barry and Connie Colyer were brought to this area by
A&P, where Barry was the manager of confectionery research. Barry, a
food chemist by trade, had completed a graduate degree in Theology, Church
History and Greek, initiated at Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg,
PA and completed at Wheaton College, IL. Frustrated over the difficulty in
finding appropriate serious theological and historical works locally, the
seed was planted to begin The Giving Tree, and later The
Olive Branch. Connie’s training as a teacher, her experience on
the mission field, and her supreme talent in sales, fertilized the decision
to go forward with the project.
John Tice joined with Barry to form Tee & Cee Associates, Inc.
in 1981 and act as its first corporate president. John brought to the
association his engineering and business skills. His design and construction
insured success as the organization moved through several stages and
facilities. The current configuration consists of The Olive Branch
serving the area on Market Street.
Tee & Cee Associates’ mission statement is “To serve the
entire Christian Community however it perceives itself." This means
that a wide range of materials will be carried including Protestant, Roman
Catholic and Orthodox. Often we are questioned as to the advisability of
stocking a certain work. Our standards are that the materials must be
produced or supplied by a member of the Christian Booksellers Association (CBA).
The original purpose was to provide works of sophisticated and distinct
materials that may not achieve universal acceptance. However, the works must
fall within the CBA limits of orthodoxy.
Tee & Cee Associates, in seeking a balance between ministry and
business, is committed to presenting services to include the organization
and sponsoring events such as the Choral Showcase at the Clemens
Center,
Pastors’ breakfasts, routine teacher training
sessions, and
other similar events.
The vision for the future is to aid the local Christian Community in
selecting, obtaining and effectively using, the increasingly sophisticated
ministerial tools coming to the market place. Our future lies in the
objective to elevate tomorrow’s Pastor, Sunday School teacher and
layperson to the next higher level of spirituality and effectiveness for the
Kingdom.
We share this same vision with the local Pastors and Christian leaders
striving for a unity in that day when “every knee shall bow and every
tongue confess…” And for that day when we hear “Well done, faithful
servant.”
We present our corporation as a resource tool for the work of Jesus Christ
on earth.
We are serving Him by serving you.
